Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how The Sights collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our website and event photo-sharing service.
Last updated: 30 August 20261. About The Sights
The Sights provides an online service that allows event hosts to create private event galleries, generate a unique event link and QR code, and allow guests to upload photos from an event without requiring guests to create an account.
In this Privacy Policy, "The Sights", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of The Sights. "You" refers to anyone who accesses or uses The Sights, including event hosts and guests.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use The Sights.
Account Information
When an event host creates an account, we may collect information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Account and authentication information
Event Information
When you create an event, we may collect and store information associated with that event, including:
- Event name
- Event date
- Event code
- Event welcome message
- Gallery creation and expiry dates
- Payment status
Photos and Uploaded Content
Event hosts and guests may upload photos to an event gallery. These photos are stored so they can be viewed and downloaded as part of the relevant event.
Guests do not need to create a The Sights account to upload photos to an event.
Technical and Usage Information
When you use our website, certain technical and usage information may be processed automatically. This may include information such as browser type, device information, IP address, access times, referring pages, pages visited and interactions with the website.
Some of this information may be processed for security, authentication, website operation, analytics and service improvement.

4. Event Photos
Photos uploaded through The Sights are provided by event hosts and their guests.
Uploaded photos are associated with the relevant event gallery and are made available to the event host through their event.
The Sights does not claim ownership of photos uploaded to an event gallery. Photos remain the property of their respective owners.
Users should only upload photos they are legally permitted to upload and share.
Event hosts are responsible for controlling who receives their event link, event code or QR code. Anyone who has access to this information may be able to access the guest upload functionality for that event.
The Sights does not use event photos for unrelated advertising or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
5. How Long We Keep Event Photos
Event galleries are available for 30 days after the event date, unless the gallery is extended.
Once a gallery expires, normal access to the gallery is restricted. Guests will no longer be able to upload photos to the expired event, and the event host will no longer have normal access to the gallery unless it is extended.
Following expiry, uploaded event photos are retained for a 30-day grace period before they become eligible for permanent deletion.
During this 30-day grace period, an event host may be offered the option to purchase a gallery extension. If an extension is successfully purchased before the photos are permanently deleted, the gallery will be reactivated and the updated expiry date will apply.
The 30-day grace period does not extend normal access to the event gallery. Its purpose is to provide a limited recovery period before uploaded event photos are permanently deleted.
After the 30-day grace period has ended, uploaded event photos may be permanently deleted from our storage systems and may not be recoverable.
Event hosts are responsible for downloading and securely backing up any photos they wish to keep.
The Sights is a temporary event photo collection service and should not be used as permanent cloud storage or as the only backup of important photos.
We may retain limited account, transaction, administrative or security records for longer where reasonably required for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, security or business purposes.
6. Payments
Payments for The Sights are processed using Stripe.
The Sights does not directly store your complete credit or debit card details. Payment information required to process a transaction is handled by Stripe in accordance with its own privacy and security practices.
We may receive and retain information relating to a transaction, such as payment status, transaction identifiers and information required to associate a successful payment with an event.
